of the 2nd All-Ukrainian seminar of advanced training
“THE SOUNDS OF JEWISH MUSIC-2”
for teachers of music of Jewish schools and kindergartens
as well as directors of music programs of Jewish communities and organizations
Dear colleagues!
Currently there goes on preparation of the 2nd All-Ukrainian seminar of advanced training for teachers of music of Jewish schools and kindergartens as well as directors of music programs of Jewish communities and organizations “The Sounds of Jewish Music -2” which will take place in Kyiv in September 17-19, 2019.
The seminar will be organized and conducted by the Center for Jewish Education of Ukraine with the support of the Dutch Jewish Humanitarian Fund, the Ukrainian Cultural Fund, the Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities (VAAD) of Ukraine.
Practicing teachers, tutors, educators and organizers of music programs and ensembles who have music education are invited to take part in the seminar.
The aim of the seminar is advanced training of teachers of music, musical educators of kindergartens, directors of creative art programs, culture and art community centers.
Objectives and tasks of the seminar:
Testing particular topics of the training modules “Traditional Culture of Jewish People” and “Traditional Jewish Music Art”;
Improving the knowledge in the sphere of Jewish traditional music art;
Familiarizing the audience with peculiarities of traditional music of Jewish communities of Ukraine in particular and Eastern Europe in general;
Defining the place of contemporary Jewish music art in the process of education and formation;
Enhancing professional competencies of the seminar participants concerning contemporary methodologies of teaching the topics related to Jewish traditional music art in the context of the state education program in music, history of Ukraine and other subjects of the Arts as well as in the context of non-formal education curricula;
Familiarizing the participants with the available database of resources in the domain of traditional and contemporary Jewish music art;
Coordinating the partner interaction for exchanging the best practices and experience, for organization of further fruitful cooperation of experts and organizations, for creating new initiatives and projects.
